1. What new skills did you learn as part of this unit? During this unit I learned how I can take advantage of different materials to create art , and it doesn't have to look professional, you just have to express yourself. I learned new skills like taking compositions by adding a large and open background, in order to make your subject stand out. I also learned how by using water in your paintings can make them seem different and you can make it seem like you used different types of colors. What media are you interested in using again and why? I'm interested in using Clay Slab Tile again , because I think it was fun tracing my own painting into something I thought it was just for kids. It was really interesting and easy to make a clay slab tile, it does take time but it was worth it; When I was quite young, I used to go to Cancun all the time and I always wondered how people were able to make them. I'm for sure going to show my mom how to make one. What project from Unit 3 did you find to be the most successful? Why?
I think the Watercolor Landscape was the most successful because I enjoyed making new colors I never thought I would ever make them by just mixing black, blue, red and yellow. I thought it was pretty amazing how I was able to create different types of dark colors in my painting by combining them but it deemed like I used only black but in different tones. I feel like everyone enjoyed this project because we all had the opportunity to use our own imagination and express ourselves by using colors. Matthias Jung Matthias Jung work brings up structures into real life landscapes. His work is a great way to trick our brains into thinking if these places are really real or just a dream . My artwork During this unit I learned the significance of using 3D images and also the use of space.By combining shades,3d images and space you can get a great work.I absolutely loved doing this unit, because I like to draw shapes and now I know how to draw 3D shapes. Haejin Lee creates sculptures that seem unreal and out of order, using ceramic and focusing on her shape shifting creations combining human elements. She introduces a unique, one of a kind feel to her designs, like if she was using a bandage. Elliot Walker uses molten glass to create sculptures, making them seem real but unrealistic .His pieces have a look of solidity while at the same time being very delicate. |
